The Hybrid Therapies Development Specialist role primarily supports field sales for growth and market development in the Electrophysiology departments and labs and related departments in the following:

  • Market development and awareness as it relates to mínimally invasive treatment of Afib
  • Presenting the Convergent technology towards Electrophysiologist and Surgeon in existing accounts and in noncustomer hospitals
  • Driving therapy awareness in referral accounts and officebased cardiology
  • Guidance and support for physicians especially cardiac surgeon and electrophysiologist during the procedures, and utilization and/or operation of company technology
  • Patient support and followup were requested by physician or operating room/Cath lab staff
  • Training of staff personnel in the use of company devices
This position requires teamwork and strategic planning with the sales force and Program Development team.

The focus of the Hybrid Therapies Development Specialist is to support the account development process for the company by providing a resource to the Director, Hybrid Therapies for AF, EMEA.

The Hybrid Therapies Development Specialist must develop an understanding of all parts of the procedure and should be able step by step to explain the entire program to physicians, purchaser and clinical stuff in the OR, EP Lab and other areas and during follow-up patient care as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Work in targeted accounts with health care professionals, and hospital decision makers that have the greatest impact on ensuring successful adoption of the therapy
  • Understand the customer's current standard of care, constraints, needs, and goals related to treating Afib patients with ablation and LAAM in hybrid approaches
  • Identify and educate, together with team members, the key health care professionals that manage and select treatment options for Afib patients within the hospital setting
  • Manage and coordinate, with the support of the manager or team members, customer visits, educational programs, procedural observations, proctoring, and relevant tradeshow participation
  • Help to conduct training for the electrophysiologists, surgeons, and medical staff with modalities such as didactic and handson laboratory approaches
  • Learn to make calls on physicians and support staff as necessary to discuss AtriCure technology, training programs, and clinical programs and trials
  • Work in a team environment with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Work closely with the Director Hybrid Therapies for AF, EMEA to implement and execute strategies to achieve corporate objectives
  • Ensure communication is accomplished on frequent basis through weekly reports, reporting on case notes, and product and clinical feedback

  • Commercial and technical/Clinical attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab or Catheterization lab either through industry or clinical setting preferred, but not required
  • Presentation and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with people across all levels
  • Computer experience with Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Problemsolving / troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to travel 7080%
  • Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
