Flight Operations is a function within our airline organisation responsible for deliver efficient, safe and compliant flight operations on the TUI Airline fleet. The Flight Operations function operates as a multidisciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation.

As Head of Fleet TUI Airline, you will be responsible for safety, commercial and operational procedures on the TUI Airline fleets and lease aircraft.

You will, in close cooperation with TUI Airline Operations (COO responsibilities) and Engineering & Maintenance (E&M responsibilities), provide the local teams support on all technical matters relating to Flight Operations on our fleet.

In this role, you'll report to the Head of Flight Operations and Training for TUI Airline.


ABOUT THE JOB

  • Your objective is to deliver efficient, safe and compliant flight operations on the TUI Airline fleet based on the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations. You will liaise with the AOC Head of Fleet or equivalent within each AOC and you will ensure that valuable feedback is given to the local AOC when requested.
  • You will cooperate closely with the Compliance and Safety department of TUI Airline and the AOCs to make sure that a compliant and proactive safety culture is installed both at TUI Airline and in each AOC. You are responsible to incorporate any "lessons learned" from safety data inside and outside the company into the flight operation manuals in addition to minimum legal requirements and that these are shared with the authorities and the manufacturer as appropriate.
  • You will liaise with the Engineering and Maintenance department of TUI Airline and the AOCs to coordinate any technical issue or change that affect safety, operational effectiveness, reliability, flight operations manuals content and/or crew procedure. Together with the Head of Flight Operations and Training you will be the sole contact point with the manufacturer from TUI Airline. You will act as the deputy TUI Airline Head of Flight Operations and Training for all external contacts.
  • As Head of Fleet TUI Airline you will manage the team consisting of the AOC Head of Fleets or equivalent that will provide the operational knowhow within the Flight Operations team, ensuring that any technical or operational issues raised are assigned an appropriate level of priority with Engineering, while also providing decision support and research or technical and operational issues arising within flight operations of a TUI AOC

Furthermore:

  • You and the AOC team will ensure that technical aspects of the regulatory requirements are met, manage technical changes to aircraft that affect Flight Operations, while also managing identified technical projects and providing decision support on the technical aspects of other departmental projects.
  • You will communicate regularly on technical issues and questions of topical interest within the AOCs, while developing and managing a customer/supplier relationship (e.g. Boeing/Embraer) on technical flight operations matters. You will attend internal and external meetings on behalf of TUI Airline to provide technical input and to maintain technical awarenessof industry developments. In case two manufacturers provide opposing views, you formulate a TUI Airline strategy to be approved by the Head of Flight Operations and Training and the local NP's.
  • You will guide other departments, including the Flight Ops Engineering team, regarding technical feasibility questions, fleet renewal and expansion, network compatibility etc.
  • You will coordinate and communicate operational requirements with TUI Airline Compliance and Safety department for them to define, organize, analyse and report on LOSA (Line Oriented Safety Audits) in accordance with TUI Airline standards.
  • You, as requested by the AOC teams, will liaise between other operational departments and ensure that feedback is given back to the AOC regarding any technical information that is required about the fleet.
  • You will maintain regular contacts with the Part-M for the TUI Airline Fleet to monitor Fleet Technical Reliability. You will manage relations and establish working relationships and crew communication processes with TUI Part 145 organizations.
