We are now looking for an Head of Area Business Controller (m/w/d), responsible for Central
- and Southern Europe


In this position you will act as an integral member of the Area Leadership Team ensuring the strategic and profitable development of the companys activities in the respective Area.


You will support the Area SVP & SVP Group Controlling in providing an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity, identifying opportunities for improved management control, designed to add value and improving the organizations operations.


Furthermore, you will play a key role within Group Controlling sharing best practices, leading projects and developing insights and foresights by a strong understanding of the business and external environment.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Directs and Controls the reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities of all business units within the Area, ensuring the production of complete, accurate and timely information, not being limited to solely financial information. Functions as a key player during all budgeting cycles by preparing the annual budget and the strategic plan of the company.
  • Completes periodic reviews and analysis of the reported financial data for both Hotels and ASO (Area Support Office), providing insights in the results in conjunction with the Business & Group Controlling team members. This will include the investigation and explanation of deviations through the review of the financial and operational KPIs.
  • Designs the different management control instruments of the company. This will provide meaningful and reliable information to the company, supports its decision making and a valuable source of analysis regarding company objectives achievement.
  • Uses financial, budgetary, and accounting expertise to track and evaluate resource allocation decisions and to ensure cost control.
  • Acts when needed as Director in our Legal Entities.
  • Drives implementation of groupwide process harmonization and continuous improvement initiatives in the finance and controlling area.
  • Contributes to Group Controlling by sharing best practices and leading company relevant projects
  • Coordination, supervision and development of your direct reports and of employees of other related departments
Competencies & skills requirements

  • Minimum education: Bachelors degree with an Accounting Qualification or equivalent through experience.

  • Excellent German & English language skills (verbal & written)
  • Can do attitude with an appetite for learning and growing within the company
  • Strong team & business partnering skills, customer oriented
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate
