Student researcher position in the interdisciplinary research project "data-driven reconstruction techniques for bilingual majuscules". 8-19 hours/week, flexible.
The student assistant will contribute to the interdisciplinary research project

"data-driven reconstruction techniques for bilingual majuscules".


In this project, high-resolution images of ancient hand-written manuscripts (~ years old) are analyzed, its features encoded and used as basis for the reconstruction of an even older manuscript, their common ancestor.


You will work with researchers of the research group Data Science at TUM, and join a team of two student assistants in greek philology and manuscriptology, use their hand-coded XML data as ground truth for your analysis.

You have:
- proficiency in a modern programming language
- ability to work independently and in a team, and to communicate obstacles and questions efficiently
- readiness to dive into original and interdisciplinary research


The contract will be on 8-19 hours/week (depending on your preferences), with an initial duration of or by individual arrangement.
