We are looking for a Plant Director (f/d/m) for our factory in Horgau next to Augsburg (Bavaria)

Principal Duties

  • Lead the manufacturing operations according to Valmet Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and principles
  • Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop your team i.e. manufacturing engineers and supervisors who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, quality assurance, or packaging
  • Together with your team plan, lead, and monitor all production activities to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards
  • Liaise with functional or operational area managers to understand current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity
  • Performance improvement; analyzing production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules
  • Openly communicate the common targets and achievements ensuring the motivation and wellbeing of the employees in the plant

Education, Experience, & Special Skills required

  • You hold a degree in a technical or business discipline along with specialized industrial management courses. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of factory/warehouse supervisory experience with current knowledge of manufacturing processes and theory
  • Thorough knowledge of machinery, equipment, and production procedures and processes
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and manufacturing information systems
  • Excellent analytical and negotiating skills, combined with effective oral and written communications skills in English & German
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and followup skills are essential
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams
  • Proven ability to make logical business decisions
