In the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institute of Mathematics - Department of Discrete Mathematics (Prof. Dr Mütze), the following position is to be filled as of :

36808The position is fixed-term for a duration of 3 years, with the possibility of extension (qualifying position in accordance with
2 Ab.s 1 WissZeitVG; there is the possibility to acquire a doctoral degree).

Tasks:

Research work within the Heisenberg project "Principles of combinatorial algorithms"
Publications in conferences and journals about obtained research findings
Supervision of student projects (Master and Bachelor theses)
Support of teaching activities (exams, exercise classes)

Prerequisites:

Successfully completed university degree in mathematics or computer science. The required qualifications must be available by the recruitment date at the latest
Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: discrete mathematics and combinatorics (graph theory, order theory, discrete geometry), discrete optimization, algebra, algorithms
Fluency in spoken and written English
Independent working style and a high degree of selforganization

Desirable additional qualifications:

Programming skills (e.g. C++, Python, Mathematica, Sage or similar)
Teaching experience
German language skills, or the willingness to acquire them (this is not a mandatory requirement)
