Position Summary
The Site Director - Manufacturing operations will oversee Straumann's manufacturing plant in Markkleeberg, near Leipzig, Germany. This role models our customer obsession by delivering patient specific medical devices to our customers throughout Europe.
Leading a team of 200 motivated employees with state-of-the-art processes, highest quality raw materials and excellent IT infrastructure provides best success criteria for future growth.
International exchange within the Operations community will further expand the scope of this interesting role.About Straumann Group

Task and Responsibilities
- Overall responsible for daily operations leading all functions (manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and quality) with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Drive engagement in a safetyfirst culture, meeting internal and external safety standards.
- Take ownership for a resultsdriven leadership environment, where people are at the core and open communication is lived daily.
- Foster a playerlearner environment that drives continuous improvement in the pursuit of manufacturing excellence
- Translates customer requirements into stateoftheart strategies and processes, resulting in costeffective and profitable manufacturing.
- Create a united team with a common vision to motivate and focus on skill and talent development, deploying a culture of personal development and robust succession planning.
- Control of the multimillion Euro capital, planning investments and overseeing successful installation and payback.
Profile
- Master's degree in material science, engineering or in another technical field desirable
- 5+ years of management or related experience in manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to motivate employees toward increased productivity
- Knowledge and familiarity with LEAN methodology and process improvement techniques.
- Enthusiastic, high energy with the ability to face reality and make tough decisions
- Driven by results: planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
- Understanding of GMP (ISO13485, ISO9001) and related processes is a plus
- Fluent in English & German
