About the Role:

As a Financial Controller at ArcelorMittal, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the entity.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the local accounts, focusing on local costs and expenses in close cooperation with the commercial teams.

You will collaborate with the central team based in Luxembourg on the day-to-day accounting and closing process.

Ensuring the consistency and correctness of accounts following local GAAP, you will work closely with tax and insurance advisors, the legal department, and auditors.

Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements adhering to IFRS and IT GAAP, creating budgets and forecasts, and reporting monthly on the differences between actuals and the budget.

Organizing the work and managing the agency accounting team will also be part of your role.

You will oversee facility management for the agency, handle HR and payroll administration, and ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations in coordination with internal and/or external specialists.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the local accounts of the entity, with a focus on local costs and expenses, in close cooperation with commercial teams.
  • Follow up on the daytoday accounting and collaborate with the central team based in Luxembourg on the closing process.
  • Ensure the consistency and correctness of accounts following local GAAP, working closely with tax and insurance advisors, the legal department, and auditors.
  • Prepare financial statements according to IFRS and IT GAAP.
  • Create budgets and forecasts, and report monthly on the differences between actuals and the budget.
  • Organize the work and manage the agency accounting team.
  • Oversee facility management for the agency.
  • Handle HR and payroll administration.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and tax matters, coordinating with internal and/or external specialists.

Required Skills:

Hard Skills:


  • Excellent knowledge of German GAAP.
  • Good understanding of tax (direct and indirect), civil and commercial legislation.
  • Understanding of social law is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Soft Skills:


  • Able to maintain an overall overview of the entire entity from a finance/admin perspective.
  • Attention to detail to prevent potential issues that may impact the bigger picture.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good structure in local processes.
  • Understanding of local culture, law, and common practices.
  • Ability to handle a high number of different tasks/projects simultaneously with high stress resistance.
  • Resultoriented mindset.
  • Ability to make decisions while remaining open to discussion.
  • Ability to work independently.

Language Requirement:


  • Proficiency in German (perfect) and English (fluent spoken and written).

Seniority:


  • At least 5 years of experience as an accounting, controlling, and reporting professional for a mediumsized entity.

Profile:


  • Minimum bachelor's degree in finance with a specialization in accounting and tax.
