We are looking for an
Operations Team Lead to join our Global Onsite Operations in Germany team to play an essential part in our mission to provide the world with affordable and environment-friendly deliveries.


Every day, our robots are completing thousands of autonomous deliveries in the UK, US and Europe, and we're hitting records on an almost weekly basis.

Our onsite operations teams are dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of our robots.


Your main responsibilities are:


  • Building and developing operational processes for areas, services, and products
  • Managing partners in weekly calls: discussing problems, requests, improvements, process changes, and use cases
  • Conducting onsite visits to gather user feedback and test our service
  • Detecting and communicating issues with existing operational processes; consolidating team feedback; initiating, implementing, and documenting changes
  • Suggesting and improving technical tools for locationspecific operations
  • Hiring, training, and managing team members (scheduling, payroll support, timekeeping tasks, absence administration)
  • Conducting growth talks, monthly 1:1 checkins, organizing team events, and monitoring team health
  • Managing office operations, invoice management (incoming and outgoing)
  • Serving as the first point of contact for partnerspecific requests and supporting other departments as a local point of contact
  • Creating datadriven reports to drive changes and improvements in operations
  • Fulfilling any other duties and responsibilities designated by Starship from time to time

What we hope you'll bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of experience in operations or a similar position
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience with budgeting
  • Fluency in German and English language skills
  • Experience leading a team
  • Passion for taking on new and challenging tasks
  • Openness to change and uncertainty
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Capability to work independently without a direct manager onsite
  • Good communication skills for remote collaboration with teams across the globe
  • A good understanding of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with communication software like Slack and Microsoft Teams, etc. (desired but not essential)
