In order to support Proto-Space, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Working Student within supervision of the Proto-Space in Ulm (d/f/m):

The ProtoSpace in Ulm is a place for employees to experiment and tinker with new and exciting hardware and software concepts.

It is a place meant to foster curiosity and innovation.

Your task is to take care of the available hardware as well as to offer knowledge to the employees of the company in the form of workshops.

One of the biggest aspects is thereby our 3d printer which you will be maintaining. On top of that you will be teaching the usage of it to other employees.

So far there has mostly been a focus on workshops in the domain of machine learning.

But if you have knowledge or skills in other areas like programming languages, compilers, app development, game engines, data processing, etc.

then those would be interesting topics for workshops as well.

In summary, this job is mostly about your motivation to learn about new things and ability to distill this information in an engaging manner to our employees.

Definition working student:

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies.

This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises.

A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Maintaining innovation space the Hard and Software (e.g. Arduiono, Raspberry Pi and especially the 3D printer).
Learning about new topics.
Creating Workshops on new technologies (e.g. AI, Software Development, Environment).
Teaching topics to employees.

Desired skills and qualifications:

Enrolled fulltime student in the area of Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Software Development or an equivalent field of study.
Knowledge in interesting topics like e.g. ML or CAD.
Great communication skills.
Teamwork, analytical mindset, ability to work autonomously.
Fluent German or English skills.
