THE POSITION:


As our
Project Management Officer (PMO), you will report directly to the Country Manager Germany as you support VARO in achieving their milestones for the German organisation through a successful management of projects that support the company and its ambitious strategy to lead in the energy transition.


  • You will be responsible for managing projects independently: from budget responsibility and target control to projectrelated management of crossfunctional teams in order to prepare decisions and present results in project committees. You design projects based on complex and sometimes diverging tasks and set up the required project structure. You will work on large or complex projects and independently organise project or subproject management.
The projects you supervise can move in different fields:

strategy projects, business cases, feasibility studies, process optimization, organizational studies, support for the integration of IT systems and the implementation of legal and regulatory requirements.

Further, you will process ad hoc requests (e.g. inquiries from the board and departments) independently.


YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Establish yourself as our PMO and manage our project agenda for the entire German organisation
  • Take the lead on most of these projects and coordinate with front and back office teams
  • Plan and designate project resources, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Ensure proper coordination with group functions such as our M&A Team, the Strategy & Transformation Team and the New Energies and Innovation Team
  • Prepare and facilitate meetings, work presentations, PowerPoint presentations and briefing documents
  • Ensure a timely derivation of measures in the course of the project and assume joint responsibility for the further development of existing processes and procedures
  • Support the country manager with coordinating any kind of ad hoc requests with his wider team
  • Interact as key contact for group wide projects, i.e. when implementing group strategy or onboarding M&A projects

YOUR PROFILE:


  • A Master's degree in economics, law or business engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience in project management in the commercial or finance realm
  • 5+ years' experience in leading projects / programs or in business consulting, preferably with some background in energy markets
  • You have a very good understanding of complex business processes
  • Communication and presentation skills: communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and in word
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, and the ability to abstract complex information into easytounderstand slides
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent German and English language skills (spoken and written)
