The Philipps University, founded in 1527, offers multiple award-winning teaching for around 22,000 students and tackles the important issues of our time with excellent research across a broad spectrum of science.

The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is 1 October 2023.

The position is part-time (50 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 50 %).


Tasks:


  • Providing scientific services in the areas of research and teaching, particularly in the field of applied macroeconomics and empirical economic research
  • Supporting the Macroeconomics Research Group in administrative matters
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree.

As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate.

The limitation complies with - 2, 1 WissZeitVG.


Profile:

- a university degree (Master's or equivalent) in economics or a related field with good marks
- good knowledge of applied macroeconomics and monetary economics
- expertise in empirical research methods
- excellent writing and communication skills in English (at least C1 according to the European language classification scheme)

  • Germanlanguage skills
Disposition to own scientific qualification in the form of a PhD is expected.
