UAS System Engineering Support (f/m/d) Ref ***:

your responsibilities:

The jobholder works as an
UAS System Engineering Support and will support X-Works in preparing and delivering drone demonstrations and experiments that help our innovation projects with finding innovative solutions and gaining customer traction.

He/She will be involved in all phases of the lifecycle of projects which are relatively short (typically less than one year)**:

Specification: understand user/customer needs and translate them into technical requirements
Design: define the overall system architecture and ensure detailed design activities for the subsystems including the flying platform, ground control station, payloads, etc. and define CONOPS and procedures
Assembly, integration and testing: build parts, assemble drones and their subsystems, define and perform ground and flight tests, act as UAV pilot in tests, experiments and demonstrations
Flight Operations: plan and execute UAS flights for internal and external customer

personal requirements:

Able to find the right balance between a structured, processdriven way of working and improvisation
A "Maker" who likes DIY also at home, do projects with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, etc. and/or build and fly model airplanes and/or drones

professional training/studies:

Electrical engineering at least master's / diploma course or
Engineering at least Masters / Diplom degree or
Aerospace at least Master's / Diploma degree or
Mechanical engineering at least a master's/diploma degree

work experience:

Engineering at least over 5 years
Experience with designing, building, programming, testing, and flying drones and models airplanes is mandatory

IT:

Good programming skills in Python and C/C++ are desirable

languages:

Business fluent German
Business fluent English

further qualifications:

Good understanding of flight control systems and autopilots are requried
Good understanding of mission systems is necessary
Some basic knowledge about RF links would be a plus
A pilot license for UAVs and/or manned aircraft is an asset, otherwise we will send you to the necessary trainings to obtain a UAV pilot license
