We in Wärtsilä ANCS (Automation, Navigation and Control Systems) are now looking for an:

Export Compliance Expert (M/F/d)
to join our Materials Management, Logistics team.


The position is permanent and the preferred location for the position is i
n Hamburg, Germany, but also Horsholm, Denmark and Schiedam, the Netherlands can be considered.

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have strong SAP and practical knowledge and experience of export compliance.


As a Export Compliance Expert your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall legal foreign trade data compliance for ANCS
  • Define/validate HS-Codes and Country of Origin Information
  • Ensure correct and accurate legal data to all stakeholders to perform their daily work without the risk of reporting wrong data to authorities during importing and exporting
  • Country of origin calculation for own produced items based on origin and value for production used materials
  • INTRASTAT reporting and development
  • Proactively engage internal stakeholders and suppliers to obtain supporting information
  • Monitor changes in customs tariff and export regulations and maintain SAP material master data to achieve legal certainty
  • Evaluate Items and Software/Technology according to military goods regulations and Annex I of the EU Dual Use Regulation
  • Evaluate items with US Origin according to EAR (Export Administration Regulation
  • Communication with authorities (BAFA and Customs) as well as our Suppliers

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Team working skills with proactive can-do attitude
  • Good SAP knowledge on respected areas
  • Good knowledge of export control, intrastat, commodity codes and origin rules
  • Development oriented mindset with proactive cando attitude.
  • Supply Chain and or Sales knowledge is seen as advantage.
  • Fluent English (Basic of German seen as advantage)
  • Understanding the importance of keeping the promises to the customers.
  • B.Sc. in engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of master data in the respected areas seen as an advantage
