Postdoctoral Research Associate (f/m/d):

Part-Time 50% (19,75 hrs/week)
: Your task**:
You will be a member of the Infinite-Dimensional Systems group and work on a range of spectral and stability problems arising from the so-called distributed parameter models of mathematical physics.
You will study the spectral properties of a wide variety of differential operators, in particular those with eigenvaluedependent boundary conditions. This is a very active area of mathematics and can have significant implication to practical problems.
You will have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and to initiate new projects in all areas of infinitedimensional systems theory.
You will also have the opportunity to interact and collaborate closely with leading international research groups in the UK, Europe and beyond and is expected to work closely with our graduate students and other postdocs, as well as collaborate with members of other RCS groups.

Your profile:

You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics (or equivalent)
You will have significant specialist knowledge in partial differential equations, complex and functional analysis, operator theory, and spectral theory
You possess the independence and ability to undertake highquality research
You will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including the ability to write for publication and present research results at conferences or seminars/meetings
You will have strong English written and verbal communication skills (German language skills are not essential)
