Fotografiska is the Contemporary Museum of Photography, Art, and Culture. A destination to discover world-class photography, inspiring programming and retail, elevated dining, and surprising new experiences.

Fotografiska was founded in Stockholm in 2010 and the museum has grown into an international destination in New York, Tallinn, and Berlin.


Fotografiska's goals are simple:

Fotografiska, the Contemporary Museum of Photography, is looking for a versatile and skilled Janitor to join our team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our museum facilities. This role involves conducting minor repairs, assisting in installations, and coordinating various aspects of our operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of Fotografiska.
  • Conduct minor repairs and installations autonomously, including heating, sanitary, painting, minor carpentry, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Be available for a 40hour work week, including weekends and during special events, to assist with event setup and breakdown.
  • Collaborate with Operations, AV, and Exhibitions teams to support installs and ensure seamless event execution.
  • Assist in coordinating craftsmen and suppliers.
  • Coordinate cleaning crews and security personnel to maintain a safe and welcoming environment at Fotografiska.
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills when working in a publicfacing environment, providing assistance and information to visitors as needed.

Requirements:


  • Previous janitorial experience and knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting minor repairs and installations across various trades.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problemsolving and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
  • Fluent in either German or English and possess at least basic skills in the other language to facilitate effective communication.
