Senior Scientist I / Senior Scientist II (all genders) as Bench Scientist Mass Spectrometry - characterization of neurotoxins and therapeutical proteins (permanent / fulltime)


For the Biologics Analytical R&D Department in Development Sciences at AbbVie's Ludwigshafen site, we are seeking a lab scientist focused on the mass spectrometric characterization of biologics (neurotoxins, mABs, ADCs etc.) with high personal responsibility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our motivated and dynamic team for an experienced scientist with a deep understanding of the relevant software and instrumentation.


Your responsibilities:


  • Independently design, execute and interpret experiments to answer scientific questions
  • Manage experimental plans, perform analyses, act as group representative in local and global meetings, master new experimental techniques and protocols, and act as mentor for others
  • Support our pipeline projects as analytical scientist, specifically for neurotoxinDevelop stateoftheart methods for the characterization of large protein complexes
  • Set and meet experimental timelines
  • Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data
  • Contribute to conceptual framework and writing of publications, presentations, and patents
  • Enrich our group through open and critical scientific discussions

Qualifications:


  • You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, or a related field, and have at least 8 years of relevant work experience in analytical characterization of biologics or a PhD degree in a relevant field for at least 2 years
  • You have extensive experience in the development of stateoftheart highresolution Mass Spectrometry techniques in protein analytics
  • You are willing to work with neurotoxins and understand what it needs to make this molecules accessible for our patients. Knowledge of the development of other therapeutic proteins (e.g. mAbs) or AAVs is a plus
  • Additional experience of techniques for the analytical characterization of neurotoxins and other therapeutical proteins (e.g. Chromatography, DSC, Raman, ) is beneficial
  • As a highly motivated, selfdriven, and resultsoriented individual with excellent communication and presentation skills, you are driven by innovative thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products, or services
