Regional Director, Publishing Development (Europe)

PLOS is a nonprofit, Open Access publisher empowering researchers to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication.

We've been breaking boundaries since our founding in 2001. PLOS journals propelled the movement for OA alternatives to subscription journals.

We established the first multi-disciplinary publication inclusive of all excellent research regardless of novelty or impact and demonstrated the importance of open data availability.

As Open Science advances, we continue to experiment to provide more opportunities, choice, and context for readers and researchers.

As Regional Director, Publishing Development, you will be responsible for growing PLOS' profile and influence in Europe through developing and implementing a regional business strategy in line with PLOS' strategy.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Publishing Development, you will be responsible for driving initiatives to engage communities in developing an equitable open research future, while ensuring effective knowledge transfer with functional teams across PLOS.

This will include identifying potential partnerships and developing networks with the research, funder and publisher communities.

You will work closely with senior managers to instil a culture of transparency, collaboration and dynamic leadership across the organization.

You will leverage collaboration as a key strategy in accelerating our momentum while contributing to growing the portfolio's top and bottom line and furthering PLOS's catalytic mission in scientific communication.
