Context:


As part of the government's calls for tenders for offshore wind farms, we are currently preparing the grid connection of a 1 GW offshore wind farm off the coast of Ile d'Oléron on the Atlantic coast.

The main challenges of this project over the coming months will be, for the subsea connection part, defining a principle offshore route and determining a landing point for the subsea cables (including validation of a nearshore route and a basic design of the engineering solution for the landing).


Description of the role:


As part of the team, you will contribute your experience of offshore installation work and methods as well as your ability to work as part of a group with other team members (technical experts, permitting, consenting, legal, etc.) to ensure the choice of a solution that represents the best technical-economical-environmental compromise.


Duties:

Working in tandem with a junior project manager who has been on the project for 1? years, you will:

  • Manage and exploit the results of the geophysical and geotechnical surveys to be carried out this summer;
  • Manage and challenge the project's project management team in their choice of technical solutions;
  • Be a driving force in finding optimal technical solutions, in compliance with the technical specifications;
  • Report directly to the package manager on all your activities.
Travel may be required in the La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Nantes area.

However, travel will be occasional. Frequent travel is not required.


Prerequisites:

  • 4/5 years' higher education (engineering or postgraduate diploma, ideally specialising in marine engineering)
  • At least 7 years' experience in offshore pipelaying: experience in engineering and methods, operational experience in works is a plus, experience in nearshore/estuarine works is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and French required (written and spoken)
  • Ability to adapt to work in an existing project team
  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead all project stakeholders to perfection
  • Resistance to stress
  • Strong ability to summarise
- good writing skills

  • Communication and listening skills to ensure successful completion of assignments, taking into account the multicultural dimension and organisational complexity inherent in this type of project
