Lead Architect (f/m/d) for Pharma Research in full-time or part-time

product portfolio and develop new solutions that support and empower our scientists in Research and Development. As Lead Architect joining our interdisciplinary

DevOps teams, you will have the opportunity to tackle challenging problems in a global pharma research environment and grow in alignment with our purpose.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You develop, evaluate, and maintain the IT landscape of Research and Early Development, in close alignment with stakeholders in Pharma and IT
  • You create the data architecture and data management strategy for the respective business domain and its IT portfolio
  • You design modern and secure cloudnative infrastructure for digital products that directly deliver value to our internal users
in Pharma Research and Early Development

  • You enable multidisciplinary DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • You actively support our architecture community within Research and Development, by further developing our architectural principals,
jointly executing architectural reviews, and representing us in the wider architecture community across Bayer

  • You stay up to date on future innovations and technical trends and lead the continuous improvement of our IT architecture
  • You actively support the development of junior colleagues and new hires by sharing your expertise and experience

WHO YOU ARE

  • University degree (Master or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Natural Science or a related field.
Ideally, you have relevant experiences in Pharma or Life Science Research

  • Handson technical skills and experience including architecture, design, software/infrastructure engineering, technical troubleshooting, networking,
cloud (preferentially AWS), security, and site reliability engineering (SRE). Experience in computer system validation under GxP and knowledge
of full-stack software engineering (preferentially Python and JavaScript) is a plus

  • Experience in designing and building POCs or MVPs, write technical position papers, solve critical design problems, or assist with domain
architectural issues

  • Experience in the assessment of technologies and IT target architectures in an enterprise environment
  • Expert in uptodate and emerging technologies, and specifically the opportunities and risks they bring
  • Profound knowledge and experience in agile and lean methodologies
  • Strong Pharma Research business acumen
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations and to drive actions
  • Ability to convince teams to test out new processes and methods regularly
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, German language knowledge is a plus
