About the Role

  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives.
  • Specific Job Description:
  • The Field Service Representative will act as a Tactical Engagement Simulations System repair technician located at the 7th Army Training Command in Hohenfels, Germany. This position provides technical support to assist with customer support in daily training device component repairs for the ATMP (Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program) contract and primarily troubleshoot, repair, tests, and potentially build and modify the Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulations System (VTESS).
  • Tasks (not all inclusive):
  • Primary responsibility for the VTESS repair and shipping
  • Repair and modifies VTESS and its components to blueprint, manuals and customer specifications using hand tools, power tools and grinders.
  • Proofs system and components for functionality.
  • Factory level repairs and restoration.
  • Secondary responsibility for the Soldier Non-Systems (SNS) program to include the repair of MILES.
  • A situational event (such as an exercise, heavy utilization, fill in during another employee absence) may require the employee to use a rover to support other European installations for VTESS and other Soldier Non-Systems devices.
  • Must be able to use ATMP Management Information System (MIS) to record all maintenance and inventory actions.
Due to the nature of this position and location, applicants must be a US citizen with security clearance.


Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Experience with Tactical Engagement Simulations Systems and electronics is preferable.
  • Experience with assembly, disassembly of TESS devices and component parts are primary required skills.
  • Must have 3 years of TESS repair experience and preferably within MILES devices.
  • Beginning to intermediate knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • Secondary skills with ATMP database (AWARE) or similar information management systems such as ERP or MRP skills are helpful and will be strongly considered an asset to track work orders.
  • Ability to Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Experience Setting up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests.
  • Must be physically capable of installing tactical engagement simulation systems (TESS) on military vehicles, both tactical and nontactical

  • High level of personal initiative and effective time management; strong organizational skills to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines

LMPeople Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
