In order to support the Initial Airworthiness, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a


Internship within Development of Initial Airworthiness Technical Referential (d/f/m):

You will join a team of 110 people in the "ETJI" department in charge of the Initial Airworthiness of the Civil and Military Helicopters.


Your location:


At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product.

Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.


Your tasks and responsibilities:


You will be under the supervision of a tutor who will help you to identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your competences.

In this context, for one of the technical domain, your internship will cover one or all of the following activities:


For the SCE part:


  • Identify/select the deliverable to be harmonized
  • Define the certification expectation for each proof of compliance in coordination with the SCE, CVE, and CQE
  • Make the link with rejection cause of the OTQ (On Time Quality) indicator

For the CVE part - for each requirement of the technical domain:

  • Define the applicability/non-applicability of the requirement (by zone, function, system, installation)
  • Define the worksharing of the compliance demonstration per ATA/CVE from the existing CVE Methodology reports and selected reference projects
  • Allocate each requirement per ATA under Htech
  • Import the relevant content of the CVE Methodology Report in Htech

For the CQE part, identify the overall regulatory corpus (Requirement/AMC/Standards/Policies) - for each technical domain:

  • Identify the 'design features' addressed within this corpus and propose rules to be followed for the description and impact analysis of a certification project
  • Identify the expected 'means of compliance' and propose rules for the definition of the certification approach
  • Review the existing product certification basis and propose topics for standardization
  • Review some selected certification projects and draw lessons learnt

Desired skills and qualifications:


  • Enrolled fulltime student (d/f/m) within engineering
  • Engineering skills in one of the technical domain mentioned above
  • Airworthiness and Safety skills
  • IT Tool competencies (including database)
  • Communication skills (German fluent, English negotiation)
  • Ability to take initiative, active listening
  • Practical judgement
  • Ability to make Synthesis and focus on relevant topics
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
