Beschreibung
Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc.

(AskBio) is a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy company founded in 2001 based on the work of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy visionary and pioneer, Jude Samulski, PhD.

Since that time, our commitment to developing life-saving medicines that can potentially cure genetic diseases has never wavered.

At AskBio, we've built a foundation of therapeutic programs, AAV manufacturing and a rich portfolio of patented technology.

Our therapeutic focus includes neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases with clinical trials underway for Pompe disease, Parkinson's disease, and congestive heart failure.

Our gene therapy platform includes Pro10, an industry-leading proprietary cell line manufacturing process, and an extensive AAV capsid and promoter library.

We became a wholly-owned, independently operated, subsidiary of Bayer AG in late 2020 as a cornerstone of its newly formed Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) platform.

Our global headquarters is in Research Triangle Park, NC. Additionally, we have significant operations in Philadelphia, PA, Columbus, OH, Scotland, France, and Spain.

Our vision:
Pioneering science to create transformative molecular medicines.

Our mission:
Lead innovative science and drive clinical outcomes to transform people's lives.

Our principles:

  • Advance innovative science by pushing boundaries.
  • Bring transformative therapeutics to patients in need.
  • Provide an environment for employees to reach their fullest potential.

Our values:

  • Be a Pioneer. We are not afraid of the impossible and to innovate to make gene therapies accessible to those in need.
  • Cultivate Collaboration. Strive to be the best teammate, actively listen, openly communicate, and embrace diverse points of view.
  • Embrace Responsibility. We are humbled by the enormity of our mission. We hold a relentless commitment to advance science and clinical outcomes for our patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Raise the Bar. Continuously drive improvements and efficiencies. Seek and provide constructive feedback. Have a bias for learning and action.
  • Act with Uncompromising Integrity. Be honest, transparent, and committed to doing what's right in every situation. Make clear commitments and follow through.

The Scientist III, R&D at AskBio GmbH will be one of the key members to support the development of rAAV gene therapy with highly complex novel technologies.

The scientist has responsibility for analysis of DNA, RNA, and protein expression from tissues and cell lines.

Target disease indications include heart, CNS, neuromuscular, liver systemic and liver metabolic diseases innovative approaches to improve AAV capsid development and understanding of underlying AAV biology.

New technologies will be used for understanding viral-host interactions. The Scientist actively participate as a member of multifunctional project teams, executing projects from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform "handson" work in selecting complex AAVcapsid libraries.
  • Design experiments and use statistical tools to analyse various data sets and types.
  • Develop robust, efficient, scalable strategies for improving AAV capsid developments in collaboration with fellow scientists, external collaborators, and upper management.
  • Prepare internally reviewed technical reports, development reports, manuscripts, and deliver internal and external oral presentations.
  • Conduct experiments as part of a variety of research and development activities. e.g. smallscale studies, scale up studies, technology transfer and process improvements.
  • Actively participate as a member of multifunctional project teams, executing projects from concept to implementation.
  • Evaluate and summarize experimental results, develop and test hypotheses to improve understanding AAV capsid selection strategies.
Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Virology or a related field
  • PhD in a scientific discipline.
  • 58 years of related experience mainly virology.
  • Seen as an internal "go to" for more junior employees who are seeking coaching and direction on highly complex technical issues.
  • Expert knowledge in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting experiments.
  • Must be able to generate high quality data for presentations and publications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with teams, internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to work in a fastpaced environment, meet deadlines, & prioritize work on multiple projects. Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Acts independently to define new assignments that generates innovative methods and procedures.
  • Ability to independently integrate and develop research programs that align with the goals of the company as defined by senior management.
  • Contribute to techni
