Program Advisor Right to Food (Part Time 80%):
in Bonn**:


  • The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration until due to project duration. Employment location will be Bonn or Berlin, Germany. Mobile work in Germany is also possible.
  • As Program Advisor Right to Food, you will work in our Policy & External Relations Unit and support the management of the Strengthening Rural Governance for the Right to Adequate Food program, which aims to promote the realization of the right to adequate food for rural populations in India, Kenya, Malawi and Burkina Faso. This program promotes good governance in and for rural areas from a human rightsbased perspective. It aims to create mechanisms and empower communities to hold governments accountable for their commitments in the international and respective national contexts.
  • In particular, you will provide guidance and advice to the project team and activities in Burkina Faso. You will also ensure knowledge management and support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) for the entire program. You will work closely with the program coordinator, external capacity building consultants and incountry project teams.

Your responsibilities:


  • Project management, in particular supporting the steering of program implementation in Burkina Faso
  • Coordinating technical advice to the team in Burkina Faso on the planning and implementation of project activities
  • Management of the final program evaluation from procurement to dissemination of results
  • Compile and synthesize existing qualitative information generated by the program's monitoring and evaluation system into case studies and advocacy journeys
  • Knowledge management for the entire program, including managing a knowledge platform and consolidating, pooling, and sharing relevant tools developed under the program (related to social accountability, advocacy, agile project management, and scaling of interventions).
  • Support coordination and communication with the various stakeholders of the program.
  • Support the organization of on and offline meetings, workshops, trainings, missions, etc.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies within the program.
  • Support donor reporting

Your profile:


  • A university or polytechnic degree or an adequate vocational training with additional special knowledge in project management
  • At least 3 years of professional working experience in project management in development cooperation, at least partly in the Global South
  • Professional experience in policy, advocacy work or rural governance
  • Experience in knowledge management and/or in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL)
  • Excellent analytical skills, specifically with regards to interpretation and synthesis of qualitative information
  • Strong organizational skills, teamwork skills and ability to coordinate processes with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Experience with agile management approaches would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to Africa and Asia and strong ability to work in an intercultural environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French language skills
