Beschreibung

The Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry, Munich, Germany is one of the leading research institutes worldwide working on the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders based on a truly translational approach, combining clinical and basic research.

The main goal of the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry is to uphold a uniquely close interaction between basic science, clinical research and clinical services in order to gain knowledge about and understanding of the causes of psychiatric disorders.

This knowledge can then be applied in the development of novel diagnostic possibilities as well as therapeutic and preventive approaches.

Stress-related disorders, such as major depression and anxiety disorders, are our main research and clinical focus

  • The department of Genes and Environment (Director: Dr. Elisabeth Binder) seeks a highly motivated
    Postdoc (M/F/d) in translational psychiatry

  • Kennziffer: PS PSKFHFD

  • The main focus of the department is the investigation of stress
- and adverse life event-related psychiatric disorders. Our research aims at a better understanding of the adaptive as well as mal-adaptive molecular, cellular and circuit-level factors influencing the pathophysiological response to stress.

  • We follow a strategy in which we first identify consequences of geneenvironment interplay and then map these signatures to systemic and behavioral changes that associate with risk or resilience to psychiatric symptoms following exposure to adverse life events. We combine a highly interdisciplinary, integrative biology approach that utilizes human pluripotent stem cellbased 2D and 3D neural differentiation paradigms, patient specific iPSCs, functional (epi)genomic approaches (single cell RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, STARRseq, spatial deep sequencing) and genome and epigenome editing as well as computational modelling strategies.
