Chair of Mobility System Planning offers a position as


Research Associate (M/F/x)***starting_ _
as soon as possible. The position is limited to 24 months with the option for extension. The
period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG)._ _The position offers the chance to obtain further
academic qualification. Balancing family and career is an important issue. The position is generally

Tasks:
scientific teaching and research activities, esp.
- conducting research projects on the design of safe and attractive streets, with a focus on

pedestrian and bicycle traffic
- supporting the establishment of a real-world laboratory in Hoyerswerda, Germany, for the

continuous recording and increasingly automated analysis of on-street video data in terms of
traffic safety
- organization of lectures, seminars and supervision of student work.


Requirements:

- university degree (diploma, masters) in traffic engineering, civil engineering or related fields
- knowledge of methods for road design, road operation, road safety analysis
- interest in interdisciplinary research on walking and cycling in terms of travel behavior and
- the design of sustainable transport systems- knowledge of or willingness to learn methods for statistical data analysis and programming
- commitment to and enjoyment of working independently and autonomously as well as
- developing your own skills- team spirit and a fair and open communication style
- very good German and English skills.
