Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Microeconomics (M/F/d)
with a strong interest in public finance and social insurance.


You will work on the implications of population aging on labor supply, saving behavior and consumption, conditional on the organization and financing of pensions, healthcare and long-term care.

Experience with data sets relating to the above topics and knowledge about microsimulation models are especially welcome.


Your Work Environment


You will work on several international projects funded by the Max Planck Society, the European Commission, and the US National Institute on Aging.

Our research includes international comparisons as well as country-specific analyses, especially Germany and other European countries.


Your Profile

  • Ph.
D. or close to finishing your Ph.
D. in economics or a related field,

  • Experience in handling and analyzing large micro data sets with uptodate statistical and econometric methods,
  • Strong interest in public economics and economic policy analysis,
  • Programming experience in STATA and Matlab (or similar software),
  • Fluency in English is required.
