You are a cloud consultant or pre-sales engineer looking for a new challenge?

We are building up a new team that's all about landing zones with huge impact on organizations throughout all industries. If that sounds interesting we are happy to hear from you

But this role is not about our platform meshStack.

Why? Because while meshStack is absolutely the right solution for teams that look for a cloud foundation platform, there are lots of cloud foundation teams that are getting started and are looking for a consulting offering that focuses on building a solid Landing Zone Architecture.

And - no surprise here - this is where you as a Landing Zone Architect would come in.

This role is all about working hands-on on landing zones. By landing zone we mean a modular and scalable configuration of a cloud platform. Think resource hierarchy with sensible location and service restrictions, centralized audit logs or a virtual networking service.

By the way, we have a whole open source model that describes what we have seen cloud foundations build up as part of their landing zones.

We have a series of landing zone workshops. and a 30+ pages guide on landing zones.

With our solid understanding we are in a unique position to teach cloud foundations how to build and scale landing zones.

So unlike some typical consulting business that sells anyone as an expert, we practice what we preach and have ample experience to back up our opinions.


Here is what we see as the core of the role: Our 6 week program Azure Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA) helps organizations built up a landing zone that they are confident to built upon and onboard customers into.

We worked on this format for the last months while carrying our other duties on the side.

With demand picking up, we now want to build a team that focuses on landing zones, including landing zones for other cloud providers (AWS and GCP are the most likely ones up next), our open source CLI collie (which is used heavily in LZA), and the whole LZA program in general.

Looking a bit more into the future, we also want to become more visible, so you can look forward about getting creative for organizing workshops and speaking at conferences.

This is a great moment to join meshcloud. Landing Zones are key for successful Cloud Foundations.

Joining us now, you'll get the opportunity to actively shape our practice and play an integral role in its success.

Of course it's not all rainbows and happy clouds at meshcloud.

As a Landing Zone Architect you'll have a direct impact on how successful our customers are with their landing zones which is a deciding moment when building cloud foundations.

So the pressure is on. On top of that, here are some things you should consider carefully before you apply.

  • A big part of our times is spent working remotely. Thus we rely on a strong culture around writing things down and async communication. We're having each others back, but we expect everyone to take looking up existing material and learning what's needed for the job by themselves seriously.
  • We work with the technologies our customers are familiar with. We often dive into new platforms and technologies and need to do so without loosing sight of what will do the job for our customers. If you want to master one specific technology to the exclusion of everything else, this role is not for you.
  • Building productionready landing zones is already challenging on a technical level. On top of that our customers are big enterprises which means sometimes the people we work closely with (mostly Enterprise Architects and Platform Engineers) can't decide everything themselves. In those cases we need to find our way through challenging stakeholder landscapes. Your enjoyment of a job here might often hinge less on your technical skills and more on the quality of the decisions you make and help our customers make.
  • The skill levels of our customers varies a lot. Sometimes you'll be working with terraform and bash gurus with 10+ years of experience in the industry other times you'll be explaining how to access terraform outputs, what the difference between data sources and resources are or how to navigate a cloud shell. You have to adapt your teaching style and if teaching the basics drains your mental batteries, this role is not for you.
