Your future contribution:

As our Head of Cloud Engineering & Operations, you will lead and mentor engineering teams to build, maintain and evolve a reliable, secure and efficient Cloud platform to serve the world's largest vacation rental marketplace for millions of customers every day.

You will join a dynamic and ambitious tech organisation combining DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, SecOps and test-driven as well as trunk-based development principles to maximise business value.

Our engineering teams are capable of delivering many releases to production per day and the Operations & Cloud Engineering team is the catalyst to enable such high work velocity in a stable and secure way.

You will lead our Cloud Engineering & Operations team, shape the team goals and wider tech strategy, align it across the organisation, and ultimately implement this.

How you'll add value:

Drive the Cloud infrastructure strategy, priorities and align OKRs with senior management and the wider technology organisation
Lead infrastructure development transformation through automationfirst, securityfocused and efficiency enabling approach.
Implement Cloud and CI/CD strategy, in a unified manner and embedding this as a practice across engineering teams.
Focus on quality of every delivery, ensuring appropriate test practices are in place and ensuring these are carried out in an automated manner
Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure best practice is built in a foundational pillar of our platforms and ways of working
Continuously improve the way teams work, focusing on results over processes.
Mentor and lead teams of highlyskilled engineers and help to grow future and current leaders.
Be responsible for technical performance management and costefficiencies bringing a direct impact to both customerexperience and company goals.
Monitor team performance and provide quality, actionable feedback.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

Are great at developing and mentoring high-performance engineering teams and coaching engineering leads.
Have experience building and running large scale Cloud infrastructure for consumer facing products
Have experience of team workflow management with a clear vision of how to deliver work on time and to plan.
Are knowledgeable about technical architectures of distributed systems and you have built them at scale.
Have experience of automating infrastructure deployment and configuration management using IaC (e.g. Terraform) and automation tools (e.g. Ansible/Puppet)
Have experience at running a variety of SQL and NoSQL database technologies in a Cloud environment
Have experience running Kubernetes at scale.
Have experience running services on AWS at scale.
Have experience of building and maintaining bestinclass CI/CD pipelines
