Our client is a leading international bank with a branch office and banking licence in Germany.

The
Frankfurt office is mainly active in corporate banking, supporting its clients with operational business, investments and export activities. Target customers are particularly companies in the manufacturing industry.

We are looking for a
Head of Compliance and MLRO who will be responsible for leading the proactive management of compliance topics across the German business to ensure that the bank's internal and external compliance obligations (including Anti-money laundering / Financial Crime) are being met.

Responsibilities include:

Develop, oversee and manage AML and regulatory compliance frameworks and procedures for the German operations
Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements and support the identification and implementation of regulatory change
Conduct risk reviews, report and track the remediation of any findings and establish effective controls
Provide input into the compliance and financial crime risk profile for the Frankfurt Branch and report on key risk indicators and monitoring results
Conduct regular training sessions and foster a compliancefocused culture
Establish monitoring mechanisms and report compliance metrics
Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage audit processes
Strong knowledge of the German and European regulatory and legal frameworks
A degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred
Proven experience in senior compliance and AML roles within the German financial services industry
Analytical skills coupled with problem solving capability
Strong ability to make riskbased decisions and setting priorities
Strong communication skills and proven ability to work within a branch office as part of an International Bank
Strong English and German language skills
