But contrary to the container, most surrounding processes have not been standardized nor innovated—and are still frustratingly complex, manual, and error-prone.

That's why our ambition is to use technology to simplify the logistics of global trade, making the processes around the container as simple as the container itself.

Operations Associate - Ocean Freight Marketplace (f/m/d)

As our Operations Associate, you are responsible for building the backbone of the booking platform on xChange with smart sailing schedules and rate management for our suppliers.

Furthermore, you are developing ways to efficiently onboard and convince new suppliers and customers to use the Ocean Freight platform as their number-one booking tool for the future.

You will oversee the ongoing shipments and help when necessary to find solutions for problems occurring along the way.

Your responsibilities in a nutshell

You act as the first point of contact for any questions related to ongoing shipments of our customers and supporter the operations teams of our participating suppliers
You are responsible to maintain and further develop the schedule management of the Ocean Freight Platform including managing thirdparty API calls and to partly manually built excel automation to enhance data and reduce manual work
You will build relationships with our partners; troubleshoot where necessary and find ways to solve problems for our clients
You are responsible for the number and quality of offers on the platform and proactively stay in touch with our key suppliers to make them successful
Facilitate bookings by collecting requirements and finding the right offers
Convince customers that they have advantages if they use the platform and accompany their onboarding process

What we're looking for

Your ideal background includes 12 years of experience in logistics
You are familiar with the ocean freight logistics market from previous work experience and know important basics and terms from the shipping industry
You have excellent communication skills you enjoy daytoday customer communication and are not afraid to pick up the phone
With your cando attitude, you are proactive, persistent, and diligent in all your tasks you have a strong desire to take ownership of your tasks
You have an outputoriented problemsolving personality you are passionate about our mission and want to disrupt an entire industry with us
Fluency in English any other language would be super nice but is no musthave
You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and know how to use basic formulas to structure larger data sets (e.g. rate sheets)
SQL knowledge is an advantage
