    About mTOMADY: mTOMADY is a global health non-profit organization that builds and implements technology to lower financial barriers to healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.

    Our platform connects patients, healthcare providers, and health financing services - no matter how remote. Since 2019, mTOMADY has enabled over 250,000 people to digitally access vouchers and cash transfers for health, a mobile-phone based health savings wallet, and community-based health insurance. With mTOMADY, health financing is delivered equitably, efficiently, and transparently, down to the last mile.

    We initially launched in Madagascar and have more recently started initiatives in Ghana, Uganda, and the DRC. Throughout our work, we collaborate with leading global health research institutions to contribute to a growing research base on mobile technology enabled health interventions. As a result, we've been named one of the most innovative ideas in global health by the German Ministry of Health, and have been featured in prominent publications including DevEx, Brand Eins, and Deutsche Welle.

    About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on individual to steer mTOMADY's financial sustainability and expansion. Your primary responsibility will be to transition our funding model from reliance on grants to diversified donation channels. This strategic position requires a visionary leader capable of identifying and capitalizing on new fundraising opportunities including individual giving, international donations, workplace and corporate giving, crowdfunding, and other community-driven platforms. Your efforts will directly finance health cost subsidies and cost-sharing models for vulnerable communities in sub-Saharan Africa.

    As Director of Fundraising and Growth, you will:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial sustainability strategy, incorporating diverse donation channels (individual donations, corporate giving, donor and crowdfunding platforms, etc.).
    • Design and lead fundraising campaigns, integrating digital and non-digital elements for maximum impact.
    • Drive donor engagement, retention, and growth, actively developing a portfolio of strategic partners like public figures, corporations, and other collaborators.
    • Work in a diverse, mission-driven team of software engineers, doctors, and public health professionals from Madagascar and Germany.
    Your profile:
    • 4-8+ years' hands-on experience in fundraising, marketing, and financial sustainability for nonprofits.
    • Proven success in conceiving, orchestrating, and leading impactful fundraising campaigns that not only meet but exceed financial targets.
    • Proven results in developing and implementing comprehensive financial sustainability strategies, with a focus on fundraising across various channels.
    • Proficiency in executing both digital and traditional fundraising initiatives.
    • Experience developing and supporting public-facing partnerships, and a track record of engaging support from public figures and corporations.
    • Ability to track data and leverage industry research into insights and execute against them.
    • Strong hands-on partnership development skills, with a track record of engaging public figures and corporations.
    • Exceptional project management and attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication in English, German and French a plus - with a knack for storytelling.
