Arbeiten an der Charité

We are pursuing research on the biochemical or big-data-driven basis of longevity regulation to identify novel therapeutic options to prevent and cure age-related diseases like obesity, diabetes, neurodegeneration and cancer.

The PhD degree can be obtained at Humboldt University Berlin, or at Charité University Medicine Berlin.

Die Stelle im Überblick

Designing and performing experiments on aging and age-related diseases in vitro, in vivo and in silico.
Using diverse experimental methods, including human cell culture, genome editing, molecular biology, RNA analyses, fluorescence microscopy, recombinant protein expression/purification, in vitro biochemical assays
Performing experiments in model-organisms (C. elegans, mice)
Generating and analysing transcriptomic/metabolomics/proteomics datasets
Analysing big-data sets and human cohorts regarding mortality risks and pharmacological and environmental modulators thereof
Communicating research outcomes at relevant international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals

Danach suchen wir

M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Genetics, Medical Biology, or a related field
Dedication to research on ageing and age-related disease
Experience with or interest in bioinformatics is essential (position 1) or advantageous position 2)
Interest and/or expertise in working with biological systems (cells, C. elegans, mice)
Scientific curiosity and motivation to perform scientifically rigorous experimental work
Appreciation for interdisciplinary work and proactive drive to collaborate across disciplines
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, excellent organizational skills and high reliability
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (i.e. German not required)
