Private equity funds have long been one of the most attractive investment opportunities, outperforming public market benchmarks, like the S&P 500.

But these funds have also been difficult or impossible to access, especially for individuals. Onerous paperwork, high investment minimums (~€10m) and difficulty picking a fund have all been hurdles that kept individuals out. Access has always been dominated by institutions or a select few. Enter Moonfare.

Moonfare is revolutionising access to private equity using a fully digital platform that provides qualified investors access to selectively vetted top-performing funds within 15 minutes and at minimums as low as €50,000.

Moonfare provides investors with innovative reporting and the potential to trade their stakes in funds using our Secondary Market.

We are introducing never before seen transparency and liquidity to private equity, and with our ongoing expansion across key markets in Europe and Asia, we are enabling investors around the world to reach further.

Legal Counsel - Funds (M/F/d)

This role is based in Berlin
Moonfare's Legal Team is expanding and moving from generalists to specialists, whilst still adding new positions.

We are looking for a specialised Legal Counsel who will actively explore new potential investment products to be launched on the Moonfare platform.

In this role you will engage and negotiate with several stakeholders, from commercial partners to external counsel and service providers.

You will also work closely with other team members to structure and launch the products, leading the legal side of the project from start to finish, you will also assist with MIFID related topics.

You will:

Be a key member of the Legal Team, exploring new investment products opportunities within the business and with our partners.
Negotiate with key stakeholders especially over distribution agreements and side letters.
Advise on and structure different investment products to be launched.
Outline strategy and timelines with other teams, including Investments, Sales and Fund Operations.
Ensure Moonfare is compliant in particular with MIFID and AIFMD and deal with any topics related to this.

The next Moonfarian:

Fully qualified lawyer in Germany, Luxembourg or England
5+ years of GP negotiation and structuring experience in relation to Luxembourg investment structures
Excellent written & verbal communication in English & German
Previous experience working on MIFID & AFMD compliance topics
Skilfully negotiates with sponsors and service providers
Highly motivated and ambitious with exceptional stakeholder management
Proficiently manages projects with a fine attention to detail
