With more than 3.5 million accounts opened and more than points of sale in Europe, Nickel is a great success story, the #1 neobank in France and a European champion in its market.

Nickel is a payment institution licensed by the ACPR (Bank of France) and, since 2017, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas.

Nickel has more than 800 collaborators based in Paris, Nantes, Madrid, Lisbon, Brussels and Berlin.

Nickel is becoming an European champion: after Spain, Portugal and Belgium, Nickel is live in Germany from September 2023.

Tasks

Nickel is looking for a CEO for Nickel Germany.

The CEO will be in charge of growing the business and will directly responsible of 4 main areas:

Sales & distribution
Marketing, communication & public relations
Operations & attention to our customers and points of sale
Relationship with the local regulator.

Your main missions as CEO of Nickel Germany will be:

Manage the P&L of Nickel Germany and make sure we respect our objectives
Manage and grow a great local team
For Sales & distribution : develop a strong network of points of sale all over the country and manage the relationship with our local partners together with the German Head of Sales and his/her team
For Marketing, communications & PR: define and implement our communication to fit the local market, create awareness around the brand and the product and recruit customers together with the German head of marketing and his/her team
For Operations & attention to our customers and points of sale: ensure a top quality of service for both customers and point of sales together with the German head of operations and his/her team
Be the official representative of Nickel in Germany, especially in the eyes of the Bank of France and the German regulatory bodies with whom you will manage the relationship
Coordinate with German compliance, legal and general secretary teams
Coordinate with all central teams as any member of Nickel management committee
Coordinate with BNP Paribas German territory teams

You will report directly to Nickel deputy CEO and will benefit from the support of the entire central teams for all topics (some topics such as IT, project management, compliance, legal, risks, finance, etc. will be centralized).

Requirements:

Proven experience as Managing Director or other managerial position, preferred in Banking, Startups or Fintech industry
Business oriented and demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
Entrepreneurship mindset and experience in developing business from scratch
Demonstrable experience in Public Relations and good connection with public entities and associations at the national level
Thorough knowledge of banking market changes and forces that influence the company
Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
Excellent organizational and inspirational leadership skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding analytical and problemsolving abilities
Fluent in German and English, French appreciated

The position is based in Berlin, with travels across Germany.
