Background
Controlled power generation with zero carbon emission can be provided by H2 fired gas turbines. They can provide power during periods of low contribution of renewable energy.

In this context Siemens Energy has launched a big research & development program to develop H2 combustion systems for the whole gas turbine product envelope ranging from 3MW to 600 MW.

Since H2 is very reactive new technologies have to be introduced into the different combustion system architectures. This will raise a large development effort of redesigning and optimizing all the different combustion systems.

Digitalization on the other hand will provide useful tools to automate the design process via tool chains. These tool chains can be driven through generative design tools which utilize artificial intelligence.

Familiarize with the SIEMENS Energy tool chain
Familiarize with the generative design method
Introduce the self learning algorithm in the design tool chain
Summarize the gained knowledge in a Master Thesis

What You Bring

Current studies in a technical field
Mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or comparable
Interest in energy technology
Fit in dealing with MS Office/Python/Modelling/CAD/AI-Tools
Very good knowledge of German and English
