Carrying out research and teaching in the field of "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy".
The task of the professorship is basic research on
- Development of methods in the field of systems science in bioeconomy systems, especially including
- Systembased model development
- Creation of hybrid solutions between mechanistic/processbased and datadriven models, including digital twins
- Between productrelated models and models of the natural and technological environment
- Between domains (horizontal; within (cascading) value creation networks) and system levels (vertical; across hierarchical levels)
- Method development in the field of datadriven or processbased modeling and respective calibration methods in bioeconomy
- Transfer of developed models and digital twin concepts into technological solutions and pilot tests together with industrial partners
The professorship will take over the lead of the new working group "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy" and the establishment of the new research field "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy" at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy.
The holder of the position is expected to participate in the activities of the Joint Lab "KI.DS - Artificial Intelligence and Data Science" established between ATB and Osnabrück University.
There are further opportunities for cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, the AgroTechValley consortium and the German Institute for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) Osnabrück.
Conditions of Employment:
Applicants must have proven scientific expertise (e.g. publications in relevant national and/or international journals) and an interdisciplinary orientation.
Previous research accomplishments must include one or more of the following topics:
- Processbased mechanistic modelling of systems in natural sciences and related calibration methodologies
- Physicsbased simulations and modelling, for example fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, mechanics, particle tracking, etc.
- Biochemical simulations and modelling, for example process control, or systems/process engineering
Legal Conditions of Employment:
The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis.
