The Chair of Atomic-Scale Characterization of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is looking for a

research associate and PhD student (m,f,x) for 3 years with 39,83 hours per week (TV-L E13):
he research focus of the atomic-scale characterization chair, led by Prof. Dr.
Ing.

Tong Li, is the synthesis and characterization of oxide and metallic nanomaterials used for sustainable energy conversions such as water splitting and fuel cells.

We use atomic probe tomography (APT) in combination with electron microscopy and X-ray based spectroscopy to study the surface changes of (electro)catalysts during catalytic reactions and thereby gain mechanistic insight into the activation and deactivation of (electro)catalysts.
