Make an impact:

The Data Scientist drives the development and delivery of advanced analyses, tools, and insights to optimize AbbVie commercial and medical initiatives.

This means

Support Data Science within AbbVie:

Applies machine learning and predictive analytics with a focus on regression and linear models in Python to create new insights and real value for our business units
Conducts descriptive and exploratory time series analysis in Python and prepares the results for key stakeholders
Creates profound data visualization in Python
Applies (agile) project management and proactive communication to ensure safe & sound project delivery
Demonstrates understanding across a wide range of technologies, including big data, data integration, data visualisation and analysis, software development, statistics and machine learning

Optimisation of the AbbVie resource:

Customer behavior: use Patient attributes, Patient types, HCP behaviors & attitudes to create machine learning, predictive algorithms & recommendation engines
Sales force optimization: Use activity data, spending data and market data to create Bayesian probabilistic forecast model for investment (NPV) maximization scenarios.
Multichannel Marketing (MCM): Create & implement state of the art multichannel analytics and competitive intelligence analysis practice with latest tools & technologies. Build models to map visitor journey through each MCM campaign and asset, build attribution models across multiple touch points of interaction between MCM and target audience. Build competitive positioning models simulations

Engagement with Business - engagement with commercial & medical teams:

Develops and maintains a good understanding of business priorities, challenges and needs. Develops partnerships and collaborates with colleagues in technical roles to drive towards high impact
Effectively organises and presents project objectives and progress, clearly contributing to technical documentation and presentations
Integrates the access to the realtime insights into business processes to ensure that we remain relevant and agile in addressing identified trends not only through annual planning cycles but through daily business activities
Thinks creatively to solve specific business problems and champions new technologies
Works with complex data sets, keeping focus on achieving success for our business and our patients
Working towards a common goal, contribute to the team to deliver new solutions, enhancements, or AIbased tools that rapidly deliver impact to the Global, Area and Affiliate leaders

This is how you can make a difference:

Bachelor/Master degree in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, physics, business informatics or a similar field
Experience in time series analysis, forecasting, regression and linear models
Experience in statistical data analysis, concepts and methodologies
Experience in predictive and prescriptive analytics
Experience in machine learning/pattern matching or equivalent scientific field (publications in scientific journals would be considered a plus)
Fluency in Python and familiarity with packages such as scikitlearn, statsmodels, scipy and pandas. Knowledge of common data structures and ability to write efficient code in Python
Development of a sound Machine Learning models including the development of customized algorithms
Ability to identify data sources, formulate a methodology and manage project timelines and deliverables
Ability to integrate large volumes of data from multiple data sources, conduct deep data dives and statistical analysis systematically
Preferred experience with tools such as MLFlow and Spark
Experience creating patient types, HCP segments, unsupervised clustering and data association map and graphs. Experience working with large datasets
Exposure to data management and engineering principals and technologies
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects, and successful matrix working within crossfunctional teams
Preferably experience in Pharma or healthcare industry
