The Wood Research Munich and the linked Professorships support the innovative and sustainable utilization of wood-based materials and products by research, education and development projects. For the research area Resource Flow Management, which conducts Life Cycle and Sustainability Assessment of forestry and wood-based products and processes, we look for a Research Associate (M/F/d) - TV-L E13 (100%) "Bio-/Wood-based Product Systems and Life Cycle Assessment"

Your Tasks:


  • Conducting research in the
    Horizon Europe Project "Developing environmental sustainability & circularity assessment methodologies for industrial biobased systems" with international project partners
  • Focus on identification and benchmarking of bestpractice industrial biobased systems in the EU in terms of environmental sustainability and circularity
  • Writing scientific publications and project reports
  • Presentation of project results on conferences, meetings and workshops
  • Supervision of students' term papers and theses; support in teaching

We expect:


  • University degree (Master (MSc.), Diploma (Univ.)) in Life Cycle Management, Forest or Wood Science,
Renewable Resources, Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences,
Bioeconomy, or similar

  • Knowledge of bio/woodbased value chains and product systems and/or material flow analysis/life cycle assessment is advantageous
  • Selfreliant working, enthusiasm for research and scientific work, capability to motivate and perform in teams
  • Willingness for cooperation with international research institutions, associations, industry, politics
  • Good proficiency in English speaking and writing; basic knowledge of German helpful, but not required
