The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

The Hertie School is seeking to fill the following position:

Project Coordinator - Executive Education (M/F/div)
full-time (40 hours/week).

The contract shall commence on 01 March 2023. It is a fixed-term contract for a period of two years, with the possibility of an unlimited contract afterwards.


Your tasks:


We are looking for a highly motivated person who will take responsibility for international projects in the field of executive education as well as manage strategic press and public relations projects.


This will include the following tasks:

  • Developing and coordinating executive education programmes for international organisations, companies and public institutions with highprofile participants from Europe, America, Asia and Africa
  • Responsibility for coordination, development and preparation of tenders for international executive programmes and delegation visits, with a focus on global politics, modernisation of public administration, international and transatlantic relations, digitalisation, human rights/rule of law, international cooperation and development
  • Conception, planning, management and followup of executive programmes in coordination with internal and external lecturers and experts
  • Regular communication with and consultation of international clients, management of course logistics, event coordination, budget management and course evaluation, comanagement of student assistants
  • Crossproject responsibility for the Executive Education website, regular updates and maintenance of the ExEd content, management of online marketing activities (content hub for all marketing content editorial system Typo3)
  • Planning and coordination of the Executive Education marketing (online, social media, print) in cooperation with the communication department

Your profile:

  • Master's degree, preferably in social, political or communications sciences; international academic and professional background.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience, ideally related to international cooperation and development, at a foundation/consultancy or in management of a higher education institution
  • Excellent organisational skills and a solid understanding of international project management, analytical mindset, proactive, detailoriented and efficient working style
  • Ability to work with diverse and multidisciplinary teams and highlevel international clients
  • Experience in social media management and the support of relevant channels, knowledge of the editorial system Typo
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
