Merchant Solutions Technology


The Merchant Solutions Technology group provides the Corporate Bank with a dedicated team that capitalizes on the rapidly evolving technology industry to provide our clients new products and innovation to meet their growing needs within an Agile FinTech-like setup.

We deliver innovative products such as our Digital Payment Gateway (an API based solution allowing Marketplaces and Merchant to streamline their payment processing and settlement activities).

As regional senior Technical Lead (f/m/x) you will have prime responsibility to continue the growth of our new team within the Berlin Tech Hub and be responsible for driving the technical design and architecture of our platforms.

You will work closely with the Product Owner, Architects, Product Managers, software engineers/developers and testers on the development and implementation of product lines using various technologies.

Your key responsibilities

  • Drive the team to deliver on the strategic technology roadmap for the Merchant solutions group leveraging industry best practice and technology.
  • Lead by example, in project management, software design and architectural practice to raise the capability of the entire team.
  • Partner with, and influence, stakeholders globally from development, infrastructure and production on risk identification, remediation solutions, and managing change conflicts to build momentum in optimising the processes and platforms across Development and Production
  • Nurture talent across the team and the various disciplines (Developer, DevOps, BA, QA etc) to maximise the potential of our team to realise efficient and effective delivery for our business.

Your skills and experiences

  • Extensive experience developing reusable and performant platforms rooted in the latest architectural and design principles (cloudbased microservice architectures revolving around big data storage). Practical experience with modern DevOps/SRE pipelines and CI/CD tools).
  • Strong Leadership skills and experience managing strategic domain level fronttoback technical solutions
  • Experience in working with or delivering systems for financial products including eCommerce technology.
  • Comfortable leading discussions with senior management with the ability to distil technical detail to suit the audience.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German language knowledge would be a plus.
