Duties:


  • Serves as an Information Technology Specialist and focal point within the Network Enterprise Center, System and Desktop Division.
  • Responsible for all matters concerning Information Technology desktop systems administration, customer support and service, equipment and telecommunication services.
  • Provides procurement recommendations to customers, testing, security and other associated issues involved in office automation equipment/systems support for a Signal Battalion.
  • Executes Tier II operational assistance and provides information management technical and administrative support, advisory services and assistance to both customers and organizations physically located within Kaiserslautern.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • The employee must maintain Stateside Driver's Licenses and obtain/maintain U.S. Military License (TMP) in USAREUR.
  • The employee must be able to assist, as required, to organizations assisting in execution of Tier II responsibility.
  • The employee will NOT travel more than 15% (or less) as part of recurring work responsibility.
  • The employee must be compliant within 6 months of occupying position.
  • Duties of this position require the employee to obtain and maintain top secret clearance; employee must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
  • This position has been designed as "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by
:

Troubleshooting and assisting with a variety of IT problems to meet customer demand; Analyzing areas of concern in regards to systems, hardware and equipment; Working with clients and customers to assess their needs and resolve their issues; Determining accuracy and relevance of information recommendations in order to ensure positive outcomes.


The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
