Duties:


  • Serves as Microsoft Configuration Management (MCM) System Administrator for the 2nd Theater Signal Brigade Army Enterprise Service Desk
  • Europe.
  • Provides technical expertise and leadership with oversight of approximately 40,000 agency end points.
  • Manages MCM infrastructure to include creation and configuration of servers and SQL databases.
  • Maintain software configuration management, software deployments and patching.
  • Verifies and reports on standard hardware/software packages, patching and administration.
  • Ensures Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles and practices are applied in the delivery of customer support services.

  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable T3 security investigation. This position is designated as Non-Critical Sensitive, Tier 3, Moderate Risk.
  • The IT classification for this position is IT Level I. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the security background investigation and clearance requirements for IT Level I.
  • Must be able to obtain commercial certification credential as directed by DoD Directive 8570.1/ 8140 "Information System Certification" with 6 months of acceptance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAREUR Driver's license.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel from the normal duty location.
  • This position is considered Mission Essential the duties of which are to ensure the continued operation of mission essential functions and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission.

  • Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
  • In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction Volume 1230.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

  • To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by administering Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM) server infrastructure; experience with MCM image creation, deployment, updating and patching; troubleshooting and reviewing computer system logs to provide corrective actions; experience with SQL and SQL Server databases; implementing and supporting software deployments and patching; experience with PowerShell.
  • The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:(
