The Stem Cell Department in Hamburg is looking for a highly motivated, creative and passionate

Research Associate (all genders)

Stem Cell

Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

Develop novel technologies and biochemical assays centered around human pluripotent stem cells and their progeny in the area of in vitro toxicity/safety assessment
Establish working routines at the SOP level for the general handling, manipulation and differentiation of pluripotent stem cells
Lead and support iPSC centric project(s) scientifically
Maintain an awareness of cuttingedge technological advances and scientific knowledge to improve project performance
Work collaboratively with project teams and customers to meet defined goals in time
Deliver documents, technical reports and presentations in an accurate and timely manner
Represent Evotec's stem cell capabilities internally and externally

Your ideal qualifications:

PhD in Biology or other relevant field
Work experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry is advantageous
Handson expertise in differentiating human iPSCs into all three germ layers is ideal
Experience in assay development for in vitro toxicity/safety assessment using pluripotent stem cells and their progeny
Experience in (phenotypic) screening is ideal
Professional experience and disease biology understanding relevant to neurodegeneration or neuroinflammation is a plus
High level of motivation, initiative, flexibility and ability to work well in a crossfunctional team
Excellent communication & people skills and experience in managing and mentoring junior staff
Ability to work independently
Full proficiency of the English language both verbal and written
