Job Description:

We are currently seeking a
Head of Finance to manage the global financial functions of Climate Analytics and to lead the finance team.

You will report to the COO and be a key member of Climate Analytics' Management Team.

The smooth running of the organisation's financial management, including the provision of related advice on strategic and risk related matters to senior management will be the central objective of this position, that is based in Berlin.

The position needs to foster a global CA perspective for financial operations in support of the organisation's programmes and offices, and ensure alignment with the organisation's goals and strategy.

Your Responsibilities

Responsibility and oversight of all business operations, ranging from Payroll/Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury management, and tax compliance for all global offices
Responsibility and oversight of all aspects of financial management, including internal monitoring, reporting and forecasting on organisational performance and development to the COO, CEO, the Executive Management Team, and the Board
Responsible for reconciling the overall financial possibilities with the financial demands of the organisational units whilst holding teams to account for delivering necessary financial input
Drive and promote cross organizational processes, procedures and standards
Mentor team of finance professionals and work with other teams across CA including project management and project development
Provide and validate information for grant submissions, due diligence processes, and postaward audits, along with members of the finance team
Maintain compliance with all local laws regarding financial reporting, tax reporting, and any other governmental financial regulations
Strategic planning of finance in line with the needs concerning the expected organizational growth
Promote consistent use of the organisation's Finance System and ensure robustness of data

Your Profile

Proven experience in managing financial processes, e.g. payments, cashflow, reporting systems
Experience in creating monthly and annual statements with external tax consultants
Proven staff management experience and successful track record in change management
A professional qualification or graduate degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline
At least five years' experience in a similar position with international organisations or in the nonprofit sector
Experience using Finance software system such as Agresso/Unit4, Business Objects etc
Confident nature in dealing strong leaders
Working language is English. Good level of German is highly desired; basic French skills are welcome
High level of communication and interpersonal skills
Experience and ability to work in an intercultural demanding environment
Interest in the field of climate change
