The Compliance Officer (Review & Investigation) supports the Compliance Management Department on European HQ level to design, develop and improve the Daiichi Sankyo Compliance program and its operational implementation and effectiveness across Europe.

The focus of this role is (1) to advise DSE's business units in the field of healthcare interaction to protect employees from violating of applicable law, regulations, rules and ethical standards which includes the review and validation of (non-) promotional material and (2) to self-responsibly oversee the enhancement and execution of a comprehensive strategy for handling incoming hotline complaints at DSE and its European affiliates.

In this role, the Compliance Officer has to closely coordinate with peer DSE Compliance Officers (Training & Awareness, Policies & Procedures and Monitoring & Data Analytics), Human Resources as well as international and/or cross-functional functions such as the Legal Departments or the Medical Departments.


Key responsibilities:


Business Collaboration (incl.

Review of Material) & Special Projects:


  • Offering and provide guidance to business partners in assessing appropriateness of marketing programs, engagements with healthcare professionals, healthcare organizations and patient organizations or patient advocacy groups with regulatory requirements to achieve business objectives in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Support the European Risk & Compliance team to manage various priority, complex and multidimensional compliance relevant projects and participate on global compliance teams to ensure the existence of a cohesive global compliance framework for Daiichi Sankyo.

Investigation:


  • Conduct investigations of alleged violations of the corporation's ethical standards or noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations or corporate policies and procedures. This includes interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to support claims or defenses in a reported case.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and factual reports to Senior Management and other concerned stakeholders about any investigation that enable fair and relevant decisions. Recommend corrective action and proactive measures that will reduce the risk of similar future incidents. Maintain proper records of compliance led investigations.
  • Identify trends in compliance violations and own company's hotline system, keep it uptodate and regularly educate and train employees regarding available hotline channels and reporting mechanisms.

Advisory & Knowledge Management:


  • Provide advice and support within DSE regarding the healthcare compliance environment and address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance.
  • Enhance and further develop compliance tools and job aids (e.g. Q&Alists), electronic and paperbased, to assist employees across the organization in the field of healthcare compliance.
  • Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals as well as laws, regulations and Pharma selfregulatory developments.

Personal skills and professional experience:


  • University degree as well as demonstrated work experience in the area of compliance
  • Well trained in compliance policies, procedures, standards and obligations, ideally indepth knowledge of the Pharma industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to explain complex information to colleagues and Senior Leadership
  • Analytical, research and psychological skills as well as strong understanding of the law and how it applies to different situations
  • A team player, open minded, flexible, proactive, motivated and a passion and enthusiasm for Continuous Learning
  • High customer service orientation and solutionsdriven approach
  • English business fluent, written and spoken
  • Proven experience in IT tools (e.g. Hotline / Reporting Tools, Veeva) with high degree of business orientation and MS Office programs
  • Occasional travelling (with focus in Europe) required
