Strategy


The Working Student is to support the Correspondent Banking Sales and Service Team in Frankfurt for our Payments and Trade Finance business activities.


Business

  • Supporting Service Managers
- with all BAU tasks in regards to payments and trade finance client inquiries

  • Supporting Sales
- with preparation of client meetings/calls and pitches (client presentations)
- with conducting research on markets, industry segments and clients (e.g. prospects)
- with general data /database maintenance and portfolio review exercises (in Excel)

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Local regulator: BaFin

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Qualification

  • Preferably existing banking experience gained during previous internships/employments
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills in English (German also preferred)
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Analytical / critical thinking skills
  • Meticulous with a good eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Selfmotivated with a high level of accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and able to cope with pressures from tight deadlines
  • Ability to create effective work relationships across functions and borders
  • Ability to effectively engage with all relevant stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
