  • Firm Risk Management

Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Background on the Position
Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate to join FRM's Risk Governance Team in Frankfurt.

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of an effective governance and control framework for FRM across EMEA aligned to industry best practice and regulatory expectations.

The role holder will report to the Morgan Stanley Europe Head of Risk Governance &
COO.

What will you be doing?

  • Regulatoryrelated responsibilities:
  • Support FRM in its engagement with the PRA and the ECB, including, but not limited to, preparation of on-site visits / workshops and information requests, compiling and reviewing of materials
  • Assist with coordinating gap analyses of regulatory requirements to support FRM in ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Review closure evidence related to Audit and regulatory findings
  • Risk management policies and procedures: Coordination of policy reviews as well as writing and reviewing policies, standards, procedures and guidelines ensuring these meet regulatory expectations
  • Risk Committees Governance: Perform secretarial duties for Risk Committees, including agreeing agendas, compiling and reviewing meeting packs, attending and minuting meetings
  • External disclosures: Coordination of and contribution to external disclosures for FRM
  • Presentations: Provide support in coordinating and shaping presentations for Senior Management and Committees

QUALIFICATIONS

  • What we're looking for:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Experience in dealing with financial regulators / regulatory issues
  • Confidence to take ideas forward and to challenge others, where appropriate, with experience in management by influence, facilitating and gaining consensus
  • The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
  • An interest in working in a fastpaced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • The ability to work independently in a selfdirected way in a collaborative, teamoriented environment
