Duties:

Manage the provision of a full range of prevention, community education, direct services, and liaison with other Family Advocacy Program agencies and services.
Carry out program management responsibility for a Family Advocacy Program ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs.
Recommend and take action to effect removal and protection of family members from abusers.
Plan and execute communitywide prevention education campaigns for special emphasis initiatives.
Provide evaluation and develop work performance standards of subordinates.
Manage a child abuse/neglect and domestic violence prevention and education program.
Coordinate social work services and provide referrals to other programs and services to include a Military Treatment Facility, Child Protective Services, chaplains, state and local social services agencies, and other military and medical personnel.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic reverification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
May be required to work after hours oncall at the military treatment facility emergency room.
This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
This position requires a valid, stateissued and USAREUR Driver's License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command's structure.
The incumbent may be required to testify before agencies and/or in court.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Family Advocacy):

Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcript).

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level which includes: working in a family advocacy environment conducting assessments for behavioral health patients, providing individual or group therapy, and developing behavioral health treatment recommendations; assessing incidents of abuse, providing counseling to abusers or victims, and developing treatment plans to those involved in abuse.
This position requires one year of experience or specific training in the field of domestic violence and/or child abuse neglect.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI and DoDM
If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI and DoDM
